Do you collect holiday memorabilia when you travel?

Do you collect tokens to remember your travels when you embark on your adventures?  I absolutely do!  So if you do too, how do you store them once you get home?  Do you put them away in a drawer or have you found a way to display them so you can look at them often?  I think I've found a great way to display some of that memorabilia.

When I travel I tend to collect a lot of 'stuff' on my journey.  Anywhere we visit I keep the tickets, and I usually pick up the brochures and maybe even a postcard or coaster and I store them in individual clear containers (or folders for smaller trips) that are labelled and stored in my spare/craft room.

This is a great system if I'm looking at a specific holiday and want to pull the container out to reminisce or look for some specific information, but it's not a subtle reminder of the great memories that were made that I can look at often.

I was scrolling through Facebook this week when a shadowbox idea came up.  The idea was that when you travel you put your tickets etc. into the shadow box and display it.  I thought this was a great idea so off I headed to Kmart to grab a shadow box and see what I could come up with.

I used my Cricut to add the writing and picture to the front of the glass and added a coloured piece of card to the back. Then I placed a few items from our Tasmania trip last year and our recent Fiji trip to the box (I've written the holidays on the back with the date so I know what's in there).  I will add to it each time we travel.  It's in my entrance so when I walk past I can see it.

I'm pretty happy with this new way to store my holiday keepsakes, now I just need to decide if I go back and do this for my past holidays or just start from here.
